A new Work week and with new changes ahead.

Its a new week Here at Nuisance Wildlife with a few changes happening. I have decided to make a career change. It has come time for me to turn my duties over to a new Person. On Friday after a few days of searching we found the perfect person to take over my position. Ms. Morgan joins the family here At Nuisance and the training begins. Its was a really hard decision for me to make as I truly enjoy my position here. I have leaned a lot but most of all it seems I have gained a whole new addition to my family. Jeff and Christy have defiantly become that along with that daughter, Chuck that has put up with me in the office, and Matt, and Scott our technicians. I will surely miss each and every one. I believe Ms. Morgan will fit in just fine. So its off to finish the week of training and then off to new ventures. Thanks for having me here At Nuisance wildlife Its a great place to be .. and be apart of.

The week is coming to a close.

One more day in the office. How fun... with one day left it seems there is not enough time in the week to get everything done. Its getting very busy and it seems the phones are going crazy here at Nuisance Wildlife Relocation. I seem to be on the phones more then paperwork. Not that it is backing up cause I'm good that way but its nice to see the business grow.

Taking for granted were we step without looking.

I have lived in Florida all my life and continue to take for granted that I'm not the only one that travels the ground we walk on. They tend to be traveled by the slither types to. We are taught to watch for cars when we cross the street, or to make sure your shoes are tied so as not to trip. But how often do we watch were we are walking or pay mind to were we step. I know for me when it comes to getting out of my car and walking to my door or in my yard it don't cross my mind. Well that has been the case up till this weekend. I got a little shock that made me really not take my everyday yard ventures .... for granted.

With it being a long weekend I decided to do some much needed yard work. It had just rained and the sun was back out but not to hot that I decided to do some raking in my back yard. I walked out on my back porch (wood deck) and off the back to an area were there was very heavy leave coverage. I started racking without even once looking around. The leaves had gotten very, very thick and made a very thick layer of brush. Never once did it cross my mind that.... HELLO... snake heaven. Well I made about 4 or 5 piles of leaves and went in to get some bags so me and my daughter could pick them up. Of course with our hands much faster and quicker ya know. We got one pile up and headed for another when my daughter about jumped out of her skin and started running ... snake! snake! she kept screaming. So me the nosy one that I am went to take a closer look to find not one but two very agitated grey and black in color snakes with a hint of red down there back. They did not scurry off like most snakes do they stood there ground so at that time we decided to back off and let them keep there space to themselves. Concerned by not just one I took into consideration hat there could be more. The very wet cool thickness of the leaves had obviously served as a great hidden refuge and more them likely was possible home to more. How right i was. I guess with our ruckus we caused we got them moving and it had to be a next that we happened up on. I walked up on my Deck again not paying to much attention to find another snake the same color, very small, coiled and ready to leave his mark on my foot that came in close contact with it. Needless to say I let them have there space and they are now in charge of my back yard.

With that little scare I decided to do some research on our Florida snakes. I found the information great. With a book provided to us by Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission I read on. It was interesting to find that Florida is a host to more the 40 species with six of which are venomous. With that being said its very likely to encounter one.

Snakes play a very beneficial role in reducing population of rodents and other pests. The six venomous snakes that are amongst us are all in the pit viper family. Due to there heavy body's are more likely to be be found on the ground and in or around water. They are not great climbers so the ones that you encounter in the trees are more then likely not venomous.

the coral snake here in Florida can tend to be and interesting subject. It has a tendency to be confused with the harmless scarlet king snake or scarlet snake which is also brightly colored. The coral snake being non aggressive and very passive in nature can pack a very dangerous wallop if bitten. They do strike on occasion but do not bit unless picked up. Its very important to remember the old saying, "Red touch yellow, kill a fellow, red touch black, friend of Jack." Also the coral snake has a black nose while the nonvenomous scarlet king snake and scarlet snakes have red noses.

I found myself caught up in the wealth of information and realized that taking a little extra precautions in making sure steps, being more cautious on cleaning the leaves up sooner as to not make a perfect housing for unwanted snakes is very important. I hope this information I have spoke about provides some interesting facts for you to think about.

Here at Nuisance wildlife Relocation, Inc. we do provide removal of venomous and nonvenomous snakes. If you find yourself in the same situation as I did this weekend do not hesitate to call. Our company has the means to remove and prevent further meeting on your lawn.

Story's from the office.

Every day it seems the phones are ringing more and more. All are interesting to every customer and of course demand the first priority. In this business though every customer comes first because waking up or discovering that any sort of wildlife has made there home there own becomes scary. Your first priority is to no matter what make sure that you ensure the customer knows you are there for them to assist them in correcting the problem to the best of our company's ability and the first thing is first to reclaim your home.

One particular call came in from a lady that started out telling us about the fact that she thought she was going crazy because she kept hearing footsteps in her walls. Every time she would get out of bed at night to go and investigate they would stop. So she would always go back to bed and dismiss it as she was just hearing things.

Well her story went on to say I know I was not crazy. Saturday morning I was off to do my weekly cleaning as usual and reached under my sink to get the cleaners and they moved. She says, I was horrified, I gained my composure and took a closer look to find a nest of about 7 baby rats. At that point she says. I was disgusted and knew that no mater how much cleaning that I did it was not going to help until I got them moved out. You always hear the horror storeys about the filth they bring in and the disease there carry. She said again I decided to put my cleaning on hold and do some investigating of my own and got on the Internet and did a search for rats. The first thing that came up was your add for Nuisance Wildlife Relocation, Inc. so here I am talking to you and what do I do next.

I assured you that it was a problem that could be solved. I got her information and sent a technician out to her home the next day. We offered her a free inspection of her home to show her what the problems were. She was thrilled. The technician went out an quickly found her problem. She was so sure that her home was protected as she had barriers installed when she moved in. There was a hole at the air conditioning unit under the slab right at the edge of the house were you could see had become a well traveled path. It was no bigger then a golf ball. With further inspection he found that the wire was not fully attached to the back part of the trailer probably the years of weather had pushed it down leaving her home exposed. The tech was able to assure er that the problem could be fixed with trapping, NO Poisons, and with a complete exclusion of her home which sealing every crack, crevice, or hole bigger then a quarter. Also replacing the wire correctly and attaching it properly.

The customer was very happy, when I called to see how the process was going and how she was feeling about the progress she was very happy. We set traps for 2 strait weeks checking the every other day until the traps were no longer tripped or occupied. All the traps were pulled and the exclusion was completed in a timely manner. She was offered a 1 year warranty for free but with the scare that she found that Saturday morning she opted to purchase and extended warrant of 3 years. So with that little story being told it seems that we have another happy customer and her cleaning days go uninterrupted and her nights are no longer sleepless.

Weekends come and gone

The weekends come and gone and the rain was unbelievable this weekend. the roads were holding water and the ditches were full and my first thoughts were the snakes and alligators are moving. Not only that thought crossed my mind but the biggest thing that did was the fact that the phones would be jammed on Monday with all the phone calls of noises in the attic. This rain brings out so much from critters making homestead in your house, to bats flying, snakes to higher ground, and moles reeking habit on your yard. If any of these burdens become yours then don't hesitate to call.

A new work week

It was a OK weekend but you defiantly know its summer time in Florida. The heat index was horrible. You want to go to the beach or the pool but the water feels like a warm bath. it seems to be getting hotter and hotter every summer. We seen a sign yesterday on the front of one of the local building it said 111 !!! ouch. Your air conditioning don't even like you at this time. ell anyways hope the weekend was all good for all, and this Monday was a start of a good week. Take care, Tena

Touching base

Hey everyone!! I find myself not staying to focused on my blogging. Mainly because of staying on top of other things this just seems to be one of the things that slips away. I enjoy blogging and would love to know what people would like to hear about. I can talk about my office stuff and about all the papers filed but I know that is not going to interest to many.

Some things that might are some of the things that seem to be happening around the business. The buzz of the bees, the movement of snakes, and it seems the rain is bringing the critters into warm places that you happen to call home to. Nothing like staying dry in your attic with the open vents that the wind caused with that last big storm. Those little pesky animals are saying if there letting me in why not. Not to mention hurricane season approaching. If you have any thought that your home may not be safe from a critter invasion then its time to not dought and just have an inspection.

I would like to provide an informational blog and like feedback we like to provide any information in the area of Nuisance Wildlife. Its a large field with a plethora of information so I hope to provide some information . Thanks for reading.
